2024-08-22 CVE-2022-48933 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: fix memory leak during stateful obj update stateful objects can be updated from the control plane. The transaction logic allocates a temporary object for this purpose. The ->init function was called for this object, so plain kfree() leaks resources. We must call ->destroy function of the object. nft_obj_destroy does this, but it also decrements the module refcount, but the update path doesn't... Linux_kernel 5.5
2024-08-22 CVE-2022-48932 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5: DR, Fix slab-out-of-bounds in mlx5_cmd_dr_create_fte When adding a rule with 32 destinations, we hit the following out-of-band access issue: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in mlx5_cmd_dr_create_fte+0x18ee/0x1e70 This patch fixes the issue by both increasing the allocated buffers to accommodate for the needed actions and by checking the number of actions to prevent this issue when a rule with too many actions... 2024-08-22 CVE-2022-48934 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfp: flower: Fix a potential leak in nfp_tunnel_add_shared_mac() ida_simple_get() returns an id between min (0) and max (NFP_MAX_MAC_INDEX) inclusive. So NFP_MAX_MAC_INDEX (0xff) is a valid id. In order for the error handling path to work correctly, the 'invalid' value for 'ida_idx' should not be in the 0..NFP_MAX_MAC_INDEX range, inclusive. So set it to -1. Linux_kernel 5.5
2024-08-22 CVE-2022-48935 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: unregister flowtable hooks on netns exit Unregister flowtable hooks before they are releases via nf_tables_flowtable_destroy() otherwise hook core reports UAF. 2024-07-06 CVE-2024-39486 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/drm_file: Fix pid refcounting race <maarten.lankhorst@linux.intel.com>, Maxime Ripard <mripard@kernel.org>, Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de> filp->pid is supposed to be a refcounted pointer; however, before this patch, drm_file_update_pid() only increments the refcount of a struct pid after storing a pointer to it in filp->pid and dropping the dev->filelist_mutex, making the following race possible: process A ... 2024-07-29 CVE-2024-41054 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Fix ufshcd_clear_cmd racing issue When ufshcd_clear_cmd is racing with the completion ISR, the completed tag of the request's mq_hctx pointer will be set to NULL by the ISR. And ufshcd_clear_cmd's call to ufshcd_mcq_req_to_hwq will get NULL pointer KE. Return success when the request is completed by ISR because sq does not need cleanup. The racing flow is: Thread A ufshcd_err_handler step... Linux_kernel 5.5
2024-07-29 CVE-2024-41055 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: prevent derefencing NULL ptr in pfn_section_valid() Commit 5ec8e8ea8b77 ("mm/sparsemem: fix race in accessing memory_section->usage") changed pfn_section_valid() to add a READ_ONCE() call around "ms->usage" to fix a race with section_deactivate() where ms->usage can be cleared. The READ_ONCE() call, by itself, is not enough to prevent NULL pointer dereference. We need to check its value before dereferencing it. Linux_kernel 5.5
2024-07-29 CVE-2024-41057 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cachefiles: fix slab-use-after-free in cachefiles_withdraw_cookie() We got the following issue in our fault injection stress test: ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in cachefiles_withdraw_cookie+0x4d9/0x600 Read of size 8 at addr ffff888118efc000 by task kworker/u78:0/109 CPU: 13 PID: 109 Comm: kworker/u78:0 Not tainted 6.8.0-dirty #566 Call Trace: <TASK> ... 2024-07-29 CVE-2024-41070 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Prevent UAF in kvm_spapr_tce_attach_iommu_group() Al reported a possible use-after-free (UAF) in kvm_spapr_tce_attach_iommu_group(). It looks up `stt` from tablefd, but then continues to use it after doing fdput() on the returned fd. After the fdput() the tablefd is free to be closed by another thread. The close calls kvm_spapr_tce_release() and then release_spapr_tce_table() (via call_rcu()) which... Linux_kernel 7.8
2024-07-29 CVE-2024-41073 In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: avoid double free special payload If a discard request needs to be retried, and that retry may fail before a new special payload is added, a double free will result. Clear the RQF_SPECIAL_LOAD when the request is cleaned. Linux_kernel 7.8
